I’m studying law at university, sounds great, doesn’t it? However, whilst you may have heard a little about studying law at university, it is difficult to know what it really involves – there’s no shortage of stories out there, from the accurate to the unbelievable.

Through my website I will share with you my university journey revealing the ‘ups’ and ‘downs’ of a 'scary', but exciting four years. Scary in the sense that it's been almost forty years since I've been in a classroom environment. Through my posts, pictures and videos I want you to share with me, and my student friends our university life as we grapple with the complexities of the English legal system.

My life has been a unique journey resulting in a nurturing and deep interest in the subject of law and a desire to study the subject at undergraduate level. Law as a subject is absorbing, and I find myself fascinated how it's developed and adapted to meet the needs of our changing society.

My website will also share with you the ‘highs’ and ‘lows’ of my life and the events that have helped to make me the person I am today. From the community I grew up in, through my work and achievements including against all odds gaining my pilots licence. To the places, businesses, people and charities I support.

Today current affairs reveal the devastating conflicts consuming  people’s lives. I've been a witness to countless misjudgements which only serve as a desire to support those institutions that help to bring equality. I believe the law allows society to maintain a process of social order and therefore impacts on us all. I want to share with you my enthusiasm for the subject especially how it can impact and help to resolve many struggles.

Acting as a probono advocate to my favourite charities is my overall ambition. It will also be an ideal opportunity to witness directly how my degree may have an impact on the lives of others. I acknowledge my strengths, weaknesses and limitations. However, I hope to cope well with academic life. I might not be the brightest ‘button’ on the course or quickest when it comes to course work. However, I have a commitment and eagerness to learn. I hope to bring a depth to student life based on many life experiences, and in return I look forward to learning others from my student friends.
